Bob Schneider was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan. At the age of 2, he moved with his parents to Germany where he spent most of his childhood. After attending the University of Maryland in Munich, Germany and then the University of Texas at El Paso - where he majored in fine art - he moved to Austin, Texas where he currently resides.
He is best known for his music but he's also a serious and accomplished visual artist. Much of his recent art is an assemblage of images and text, taken from old magazines and books. These images combined with ink and paint, create faces bursting with gorgeous flowers, nightmare intestines, pinup girls, cowboys, WWII fighter planes, faces, eyes, and other cultural ephemera.
His art has recently been on exhibit at Firecat Projects in Chicago, d.m. allison gallery in Houston, as well as Yard Dog Gallery and Bass Concert Hall at the University of Texas in Austin.
